ANA and El Al Sign Code-Sharing Agreement to Further Strengthen Relationship

All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Israel's El Al Airlines announced on June 5 that the two companies have entered into a code-share partnership agreement, and plan to operate code-share flights on El Al's Tel Aviv-Narita service, which opened in March 2023, by spring 2024. In the future, the airline will also expand code-sharing on ANA-operated routes, including domestic routes in Japan. The two companies intend to further strengthen their relationship in areas other than code-sharing, such as frequent flyer programs and priority service for frequent flyers.


According to a June 5 ANA press release, ANA President and Representative Director Shinichi Inoue said he hopes the partnership will bring more safe and convenient travel opportunities to business and leisure travelers in Israel and Japan. He also commented that the partnership will further strengthen the ties between the two countries that have developed over the past 70 years. Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, CEO of El Al Airlines, said that the Tel Aviv-Narita service has proven to be of great interest to travelers between the two countries, and she hopes that this partnership will bring great benefits to the customers of both companies and strengthen the ties between the two countries. He said he hopes the partnership will greatly benefit the customers of both companies and strengthen the ties between the two countries.


According to monthly data published by Ben Gurion International Airport in Israel, the number of international passengers to Japan in March 2023, when El Al Airlines began direct flights to Narita, was 4,039, and 3,952 in April. It will be interesting to see how this partnership will affect the number of travelers between Japan and Israel.
