Rapyuta Robotics, a company that specializes in autonomous mobile robots for logistics warehouses, announced the opening of its first North American office in Chicago, Illinois on January 25th. The Chicago office is the company's third overseas location, after India, and it will be the first location with sales functions. The company's main product, the "Rapyuta PA-AMR" picking robot, is a robot solution that can be easily introduced into existing warehouses without a large investment in equipment, which contributes to the improvement of productivity in picking work by workers and the reduction of their burden, and the solution of the labor shortage. The company already has many successful cases in Japan, such as introduction to major logistics companies, and it boasts the top share in Japan for similar robots. The Chicago office is the first step in the company's global expansion, and the location was chosen because it is the most accessible place when considering major warehouses and logistics hubs in the United States. The executive officer in charge of the Chicago office, Ryosuke Morii, said that they would like to actively develop customers throughout the United States with Chicago as the base.
